On Saturday evening 20 November 2021, the well-known Flemish singer Micheline van Hautem, accompanied by Brassband Rijnmond, will sing the most beautiful songs from the repertoire of Ramses Shaffy.

Who doesn't know his unforgettable “Look up Sammy”, “Pastoral”, “We will carry on” and of course “Sing, fight, cry, pray…”. In the atmospheric Rotterdam theater Kantine Walhalla, musical centipede Micheline van Hautem, Brassband Rijnmond and the renowned bass trombonist Jos Jansen pay tribute to one of the Netherlands' most famous chansonniers and life artists of the last century. Before the break Brassband Rijnmond will play an instrumental program of 30 minutes.

After the break it is Micheline Van Hautem's turn to perform the most beautiful songs of Ramses Shaffy. In 2017 Micheline, Jos and Brassband Rijnmond previously performed with great success in Kantine Walhalla with the program Brel & Brass, an ode to the music of the Belgian chansonnier Jacques Brel, with more than 80 editions now. The impassioned music of Ramses Shaffy interpreted with the warm voice of Micheline van Hautem in combination with the warm, but also sparkling brass of Brassband Rijnmond clicks very well, giving the music an extra charge and more expressiveness.

Partly due to the intimate atmosphere of the Kantine Walhalla theater and the appealing artists, it promises to be another highlight that you will never forget!
